In this capacity, Matt leads U.S. federal government, diplomatic corps relations and heads the company’s Washington DC office. Prior to this assignment, Matt led the company’s U.S. State Government Relations team, working in close collaboration with franchise bottlers on government issues impacting the Coca-Cola business system’s brands, retail and food service business, syrup, water and juice manufacturing facilities and key accounts. Matt joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1998. Before joining Coke, he worked as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss and U.S. Representative Jack Kingston.
While in Atlanta, Matt served on the Board of Directors of the Smithgall Woods Foundation and the Jekyll Island Foundation, and in 2010 was appointed by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to the Board of the Georgia Public Broadcasting Commission. He is currently serving on the Board of Visitors of the Richards College of Business at the University of West Georgia. Matt holds a bachelors degree from the University of West Georgia and a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University. He and his wife Abby live in Northwest Washington DC and have two sons, Henry and Whit.
