2 pounds okra, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon hot sauce
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups seasoned corn flour
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or water
oil for deep-frying
salt to taste
In a deep dish, combine milk, egg, and hot sauce to make an egg wash. Put flour and corn flour in separate deep dishes or pie plates. Roll okra slices in flour, then in egg wash, and then in corn flour. Drop into 360°F oil and fry until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels, salt to taste, and serve immediately.
